The 2019 SD Card Incident
“The SD card incident” is used here as a navigation label for a group of public 2019 records. The strongest surviving item is the March 19 upload titled What’s on the SD card. Nearby archive records carry marriage-over and divorce wording, while an earlier February Breakfast with Daniel record is a machine-transcript candidate.
The wife in this period is generally known in the HIMR community as Chihiro, and this page follows that convention. The SD-card clips themselves use the generic label wife rather than audibly or visibly naming Chihiro, so source-specific citations retain that limitation.
That source trail makes the topic notable enough to index. It does not prove what was on a card, that the four records form one uninterrupted account, that a card caused a separation, or that a civil divorce followed on the timetable suggested by titles.

What the March 19 raw file visibly establishes
Section titled “What the March 19 raw file visibly establishes”The transcript page displays 00:05:01, while the reconciled raw file runs 00:12:36.78. Sampling across the complete picture and a denser check around the edit show Daniel speaking alone to camera through the opening section. Around 00:05:05.5, the video hard-cuts into a separate outdoor bushcraft/cooking segment. That explains the large duration mismatch without treating the later footage as more SD-card testimony.
One substantive editorial element can be checked without accepting the soundtrack: from approximately 00:01:11–00:01:17, a creator-added overlay visibly reads, “This skype call took place around may 2018.” That verifies how Daniel dated a call in his published edit. It does not independently establish that a call occurred, its participants or contents, or the accuracy of the displayed month and year.
Daniel’s unverified account

Section titled “How he claimed the card was found”The February 22 machine transcript renders Daniel saying that he left an SD card in Japan while returning to England because of his father’s condition. In that account, Chihiro later returned to Japan, found the card, and looked through it. The March 6 machine transcript renders him adding that she sent him screenshots of what she had found and that they had gone roughly two weeks without speaking.
The March 17 machine transcript then renders Daniel saying that Chihiro had lost trust after seeing the card and wanted a divorce. That is his claimed chronology and causal interpretation. It is not Chihiro’s authenticated account, proof that the card was the sole cause, or a civil-status record.
What Daniel claimed was on it
Section titled “What Daniel claimed was on it”Independent base.en and small.en passes agree on the main structure of Daniel’s
March 19 account. They render him describing:
- multiple screenshots from sexually explicit Skype video calls with an unnamed person; the checked creator overlay dates one call to around May 2018;
- an approximately seven-second post-hotel clip that he dated to November or December 2017, which he claimed did not record sexual activity or identify the unnamed person beyond clothed legs; and
- other intimate images he said had been sent to him by unnamed people.
The machine text also renders Daniel arguing that the hotel clip predated the marriage and giving his own view of whether that made it adultery under Japanese law. The wiki does not adopt that legal interpretation. It also does not infer permission to retain or show any material, because no underlying file, sender, participant, consent record, or applicable legal authority was reviewed.
Identity and causation boundaries
Section titled “Identity and causation boundaries”- This page follows the established community identification of Daniel’s wife as Chihiro. The SD-card sources themselves still use only wife, so they are not the source that establishes her public name or a bridge to the current Chihiro K profiles.
- Daniel’s reported interpretation of what counted as infidelity or a legal wrong is not adopted. No legal authority or civil-status record was reviewed.
- The surviving source does not let the wiki inspect the card or underlying files. Claims about their contents remain one speaker’s unverified account even after the audio is eventually checked.
Next verification step

Until then, the durable public conclusion remains bounded: an explicitly SD-card-labelled March 2019 source survives beside marriage/divorce-labelled records; its checked picture includes a creator-added May 2018 caption and a five-minute talking-head section followed by unrelated outdoor footage. The additional details above record Daniel’s unverified claims, not established facts.
