Overview
March 2017 sources center on Daniel's YouTube channel growth and his first meeting with George Trombley in London. The meeting followed a subscriber surge from George's mention. Daniel found George's confident, optimistic manner a contrast to his own pessimism, and it fed his thinking about leaving his job for translation and art.
Themes
Petrol station work: exhaustion, coworker friction, an overnight-shift tour, and a plan to leave by April for Fiverr translation, webcomics, art and YouTube.
Long-distance relationship with a Japanese girlfriend: a period of silence and boredom, resolution after the sleep-deprivation explanation, a booked Japan trip, marriage-visa ideas, and worries about meeting her nine-year-old daughter.
Social anxiety and introversion recur: Daniel describes difficulty ordering food and speaking to strangers, and finds connection through YouTube comments.
Nonconformity: Daniel describes valuing being different, rejecting mainstream trends and traditions, moral subjectivism, and having chosen an unpopular World of Warcraft class.
