I met this guy from Hong Kong last year at immigration here in Japan, and he's still in Japan, and he asked me if I wanted to go for dinner, and I said yes. So I'm gonna go and meet him now. I feel a bit nervous about it. He's supposed to be somewhere here.

2:34–2:36 · rev_3c5fc7fc2e3a397303fe832929e19515_20Let me open the door for you. Thank you. Bye. Bye. Look, I just got back home expecting my wife to be here to greet me. It's It's nearly half past 9 PM in the evening and she's not home. I thought she'd be here. Maybe she didn't expect me to come home so early. You see, she can't even go one evening by herself. If I tell her that I'm gonna go and meet a friend one evening, then instead of coming home and being by herself, she'll just go out with a friend or several friends. I don't know where she went or who she's with or when she's coming back. It's her day off tomorrow, so she might end up spending all evening out, not coming back until midnight, and then I'm here like a loser. I feel like I'm being punished just because I told her I was going to see a friend. Maybe she thought I was just making that up and I was actually going to see another woman. Yeah, well, I have videos to prove it, okay? So I'm back from my dinner trip, dinner date. It was a bit of a surprise because I wasn't expecting there to be a girl there as well. Not a bad surprise, I like girls. I had to blur out her face because she, she said she didn't want her face to be shown on YouTube and I said okay. But, um, yeah, it was a pleasant surprise, I guess. I actually nearly didn't go because I went all the way to Osaka and I got lost. And the station we had to meet was so far away and there were so many stops, so many changes to get there, and I got a bit nervous and I nearly chickened out. And I sent him a message saying that I didn't want to come and I was going to go back home instead because I was too lazy to find the station. But, uh, he, he convinced me to come in the end and I found the train station. And I had a nice time, I guess. It was okay. Yeah, I'm glad, I'm glad I went. I don't regret going. It was, um, it was a nice change from being stuck in here every single day. I know I didn't film much. I only got about— didn't even get 3 minutes of footage. I was hoping to make a 10-minute vlog out of the whole thing. But I just feel really awkward filming other people. I feel fine filming myself when I'm by myself like this, but I feel extremely uncomfortable filming other people. I've just noticed that, and I'm not sure why. Even though the Hong Kong guy, he gave me permission and I asked him, he said that's fine, that's okay. I still felt really awkward just shoving the camera in his face, in his direction, and then expecting him to say stuff. It just felt very invasive. I didn't feel comfortable doing it, so I only ended up with a couple minutes of footage. Actually, it took me a very long time before I felt comfortable filming my wife. I feel fine now because I know she's not really going to complain about it, but at the beginning I felt really uncomfortable filming my wife as well. So yeah, that's, that's why the Didn't get much footage, unfortunately. It was a little bit tricky for me because it's been a really long time since I've been in that kind of situation where I've met up with more than one person in a social setting where the objective wasn't to get cereal. It's been a very, very long time since I just met up with a guy for non-cereal purposes. Apart from the initial awkwardness, I— yeah, I did quite enjoy it. Maybe we'll meet again, maybe I'll meet other guys. I was kind of hoping that we would do something else after dinner so I'd have more things to film for the video, but after we finished dinner, the girl wanted to go straight back to her hotel. I think she was staying in a hotel. She isn't from around here, she was from Tokyo and she just came to Osaka for a few days. Maybe— maybe she and the Hong Kong guy hooked up, who knows? That's why they wanted to get rid of me quickly after dinner. And that's completely understandable. I'd want to get rid of myself as well if I was in his shoes. I was a bit worried that they were going on a date and then I was interfering, kind of like a third wheel, and I asked him if it was okay, and he insisted that it was okay and it wasn't a date. So, so you might be wondering, why did I suddenly go out and meet a guy? And there's mainly 2 reasons. The 2 reasons don't involve cereal. Reason number 1, I'm really bored. And reason number 2, I need content for my YouTube channel and I don't really know what else to do. So if this video does okay, maybe I'll go out and meet more guys. If you're a guy and, you know, you want a no-cereal kind of meetup, In Osaka and you're not crazy and you don't mind me filming you or talking about you, then yeah, maybe we can meet up and do stuff. We can be— we can be friends. Yeah, maybe I should try having friends. Everyone keeps saying— telling me that I should go and get friends, and I've always argued that I don't need friends. Friends are boring. Can't have cereal with friends. What's the point? Maybe I've been wrong. Maybe having friends would be fun. I'm not sure. I'm not 100% sold on the idea after today's experience, but I'm not put off the idea from today's experience. It wasn't a negative experience. It was an okay experience, I guess. I've just been so bored recently. I've got nothing to do. I just sit in this room every single day, all day long. Trying to make videos, playing video games, trying not to go crazy, and I'm starting to lose the battle of not going crazy, and I'm starting to go a little bit crazy. If I'm going to be in Japan long term, then I guess having some friends wouldn't be such a bad idea.

9:03–9:03 · rev_3c5fc7fc2e3a397303fe832929e19515_22It's now quarter to 10. My wife is still not back. And I'm a bit annoyed that she didn't tell me she's going to go out. A bit annoyed she didn't tell me when she's coming back. A bit annoyed that that girl at the barbecue place today looked quite similar to my ex-girlfriend. I found her quite attractive, but I can't do anything because I'm married, and she probably didn't like me anyway. I was pretty shy during the whole thing. I didn't talk a huge amount. I did try a little bit. I did ask a few questions. I asked the girl where where she came from in Japan, and I asked her if she drove from Tokyo to Osaka. I asked her how many days she was staying here. I tried to make conversation, so I feel quite proud of myself. I could have done better. Yes, I could have spoken more, but it's been a while since. I've had to speak to people. I just find it a little bit difficult to think of things to ask people. I don't really know what to talk about, which is weird because when I'm by myself, I don't really have that problem. I find it quite easy to just talk about random things, but when there's other people, when I have to talk to people directly face to face, I don't really know what to say. I kind of close up and I become very self-conscious, maybe overly self-conscious, and I get worried That I might say something that makes me sound or look silly. Oh, oh, oh! You're late. Honey? You're late.
